BTDL is the acronym for our design group, Better Than Doing Laundry. What do we design? Scrapbooks, paper piecings, and other altered art. Passionate about all things scrapbook, we "met" through Ebay and created a design team in 2006.
Soon this design team developed into a family a family of sister scrappers who support and critique, encourage and inspire. Passionate memory keepers and artists, we challenge and support each other. As a result, we have built a reputation for creating unique scrapbook and paper art.
Our close-knit team remains small with around 15 members, but our dreams and ambitions are big! We recently opened an online boutique, and you can still find our work on eBay.
We are also currently working on our second CD, a compilation of scrapbook layouts and other paper projects. Our first CD was a huge success, and we are excited about the second "load" that is soon to come off the line! Filled with some of our favorite creations, it will be sure to inspire every scrapbooker. Because, after all...
Scrapbooking is absolutely Better Than Doing Laundry...
Late at night burns a little light in the corner of my studio. It is there that you will find me drawing, cutting, shading and gluing as though there is no tomorrow. If you are like me, the hours seem like minutes when those scissors or chalks are in hand. I love this art!
I have many crafty things that I like to do. A few of them are knitting, crocheting, sewing, painting and gardening. I love to do them all. There is just not enough time in the days to do it all anymore.
I also love to make people smile; I hope that selling my pieces will make that person smile when they see it as an accent to the fun cherished photos in their scrapbooks.
I have three boys that have inspired me in many ways through the years. They have done some crazy, fun things; and I have had to scrap all of those things. I also have two doggies, three tortoises, and a pond with twenty-two koi in it. And I can’t forget my hubby, Randy, who is the backbone of this family. They are all what keeps me up and running.
Joining BTDL has been a great experience for me. All of the ladies are fun loving and genuine. I want to thank them for giving me this opportunity to share my art with you and with this very talented group. You know I have to say that these ladies are like sisters to me. They are a very close group that pulls together when one of us are in need. It is wonderful to be involved with so much talent and love.
Hi, my name is Sandy and I am so proud to have been part of BTDL since the beginning. I marvel daily at the art work produced by my fellow team members, and they give me something to aspire to. My claim to fame is my Star Albums, Jacob’s Ladders, and Explosion Boxes. I love making unique and “out there” mini albums, and I’m always looking for new ways to create them. My three grown children and my husband of thirty-five years inspire me. I have been a crafter for years, making dolls, quilts, knitting and crocheting, but what I am currently doing is the most satisfying. Since none of them are crafters, they just shake their heads when they look at what I’m making, but they are always supportive, even though they are clueless.
Speaking of children, we were empty nesters for about four months, but now the revolving door policy has gone into effect. My youngest daughter tried her wings, but is now back home, and if she follows in the footsteps of her brother and sister, she will move out and move back several times before she finally finds her niche.
I am so pleased to be a part of this group! If you have any requests for a star album, Jacob’s ladder or Explosion Box with a specific theme, please get in touch with me at sandyvint@cabelone.net and I will see if I can accommodate you!
